Ralph Sampson Off to Strong Start

Minnesota signee Ralph Sampson III is off to a strong start for his Duluth (GA) Northview team. He has led the the Titans to a 2-1 start and they face North Gwinnett (2-1) this evening. Sampson is averaging 23.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.7 blocked shots per game this season under head coach Steven Bombard.

Ralph Sampson, a 6-foot-11, 225-pound center who committed to Minnesota in October had 19 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocks in a 70-64 season-opening win against Marist on November 17th. He had 25 points, eight rebounds and six blocks in 22 minutes in a 91-59 win against West Hall on Nov. 21st.

Northview lost the championship game of the South Forsyth Turkey Shootout 60-51 Saturday to the host team as Sampson finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
