Colton Iverson, who saw his recruitment go through the roof after he led the South Dakota Heat AAU team to the Hoosier Shootout 17-and-under title, was three of six from the field and five of six from the charity stripe. He finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots in a 64-54 loss to Brandon Valley. Iverson is the team's lone returning starter.
Iverson shined this summer as a member of the South Dakota Heat AAU team. He helped lead the Heat to the Hoosier Shootout title as he scored 28 points in the championship game and he was named MVP.
Iverson averaged 15 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for Yankton last season, which finished at 16-10 with a fifth-place finish in the state tournament.
Iverson scored 20 points in the consolation championship as Yankton defeated Mitchell 68-42. He scored 15 points in a 47-37 win over Rapid City Stevens in the consolation semifinals.
The Bucks will face Sioux Falls Washington Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Summit Center.
