Ralph Sampson Posts Triple-Double in Win

Minnesota signee Ralph Sampson III is off to a strong start for his Duluth (GA) Northview team. He posted a triple-double Friday night as he finished with 31 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a 68-61 win over Walton. Sampson has led the the Titans to a 5-1 start and is averaging 23.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 5.8 blocked shots per game this season under head coach Steven Bombard.

Ralph Sampson, a 6-foot-11, 225-pound center who committed to Minnesota in October, also added three steals, one assists and no turnovers, according to Bombard.

His 2007-08 numbers are made even more impressive by the fact that he played only half the game against North Gwinett, due to a sprained ankle.

Sampson has scored in double figures in all six games and has four games of 20 or more points.
