Rodney Williams Held out of Hopkins Game

Junior Rodney Williams Jr., a 6-foot-5, 180-pound forward from Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper, is one of the top juniors in the state and is getting heavy interest from the Gophers coaching staff. However, he missed the Hawks' second game of the season after failing to turn in an assignment, according to AAU head man Rene Pulley. Cooper lost the game 77-59, but Williams is expected to miss just one game.

Rodney Williams Jr. averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 blocked shots and 2.3 assists per game as he led the Hawks to a 21-7 record this past season.

Williams recently told GoldenSports.Net that he is hearing the most from Miami, Minnesota, Iowa State and Wisconsin.
