Rodney Williams Scores 38 Versus Minnetonka

Junior Rodney Williams Jr., a 6-foot-5, 180-pound forward from Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper, is one of the top juniors in the state and is getting heavy interest from the Gophers coaching staff. Williams scored 38 points in a 92-78 loss to Minnetonka Friday night as Minnesota assistant Vince Taylor watched.

Rodney Williams Jr. has led Cooper to a 9-4 start. He is averaging 21.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Williams has scored in double figures in every game this season. He has seven games of 20 or more points, including three games of 30 or more points.

Williams Jr. averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 blocked shots and 2.3 assists per game as he led the Hawks to a 21-7 record last season.

Williams recently told GoldenSports.Net that he is hearing the most from Miami, Minnesota, Iowa State and Wisconsin.
