Austin Hahn was an all-Washington County and first-team all-conference defensive lineman selection this season.

"After a long and stressful recruiting process, I've decided to take a preferred walk-on offer at Minnesota," Hahn told "I held offers from Concordia-St. Paul, Winona State, Michigan Tech, Culver-Stockton and Hillsdale College. There were also a few other D-I schools that showed late interest in the idea of a preferred walk-on.

"I made my decision after talking things over with Coach (Phil) Meyer, my parents and Coach (Dan) Brunner. I'm excited to be a Gopher."

Hahn is a good student with a 3.5 GPA. He had received recruiting interest from Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Central Michigan, Western Mihicgan, and Northern Illinois in the fall, but failed to received a scholarship offer.
