Roszell Gayden To Grayshirt

Roszell Gayden, a 6-foot-7, 295-pound tackle from Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper who committed to Minnesota in April, did not sign Wednesday, the first day of the signing period. Gayden is expected to grayshirt, meaning that he would enroll in January and count towards next year's recruiting class. He still has some work to do academically.

Roszell Gayden led Copper to a 2-7 mark this season. They defeated Columbia Heights 28-20 and St. Louis Park 28-0, but failed to score more than seven points in their seven losses, including three shutouts.

Gayden was named Associated Press and Minnesota Vikings All-State team and Kare-11 and Minneapolis Star Tribune All-Metro team.

Gayden was North Suburban Conference honorable mention as a junior and led Cooper to a 4-5 mark. He missed his sophomore season with a MCL injury he suffered playing basketball. Gayden also played limited minutes on the 21-7 Hawks' basketball team last year.
