More on the Moses Alipate Committment

Bloomington Jefferson junior quarterback Moses Alipate committed to Minnesota Sunday evening. His father, former NFL player Tuineau, called me early Sunday evening to let me know of his oldest son's decision. Alipate comes from a very special family that I had the pleasure of getting to know the past few years. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Tuineau to learn the latest on his son's commitment.

Moses Alipate is the second player to commit to Minnesota. Playing for the hometown team was a big part in his decision, according to his father.

"He was just excited to be here playing, for coach (Tim) Brewster and (Mike) Dunbar," Tuineau said. "They're is not a better offensive mind than Coach Dunbar."

Tuineau said that the big Alipate clan, which are always present at games involving Moses or freshman Marcus, factored into Moses' decision.

"Being around home and close to his family was important for him," Tuineau said.

Tuineau also credited former Washington State teammate Ron Lee, who is now the defensive backs coach at Minnesota.

"Moses is excited to be a Gopher and now he can go onto the next chapter of his life," Tuineau said.
