Missouri State/West Plains never trailed in picking up its ninth win in its last 10 games over Mineral Area (19-12). The Grizzlies took control from the start, jumping out to a 14-4 lead, nailing half their 16 three-point attempts to build a 40-25 gap by intermission. The Grizzlies expanded the lead to 21 points and Mineral Area could never get closer than 12 points.
Raason Young, a 6-foot-4 freshman, led Missouri State/West Plains with 15 points, including 14 in the first half. He sank four three-pointers.
Devon Peltier, a 5-foot-11 freshman, had 13 points with 11 in the second half. He made three three-pointers. Danny Sanders, a 6-foot-3 sophomore and Morris "Mo" Smith, a 6-foot-3 sophomore added 12 points each. Smith made four three-pointers in the win.
