Devron Bostick Named GRC Player of the Year

Gopher basketball signee Devron Bostick has been named Great Rivers Conference and Region 24 Player of the Year. Bostick is averaging 18.2 points per game as he has led NJCAA's No. 16-ranked Southwestern Illinois to a 26-4 mark and a top seed in the region 24 playoffs next week.

Southwestern Illinois earned a share of first place with an 80-74 victory against Wabash Valley at home Wednesday, earning them a top seed. Chris Hines, a 6-foot-7 freshman, led the Blue Storm with 20 points. Bostick added 14 points in the win.

The Region 24 Tournament will be held from March 6 through 8 at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill. The following are the first-round pairings:

#1-seed Southwestern Illinois vs. #8 Olney Central
#4 Wabash Valley vs. #5 John A. Logan (17-12)

#2 Southeastern Illinois (24-6) vs. #7 Lincoln Trail (10-20)
#3 Kaskaskia vs. #6 Lake Land (13-16)
