Howard Pulley Falls in Boo Williams Quarters

The Howard Pulley Panthers AAU team, led by Minnesota Gopher recruiting targets Royce White and Rodney Williams, fell to BABC, last year's 16-and-under titlist 83-73 in the Boo Williams Invitational quarterfinals. The Panthers finished 3-1 overall and reached the 100-point mark twice.

Howard Pulley was led by 20 points from Royce White, who made eight of 12 from the field and two of three from three-point range. He added seven rebounds and four assists. Rodney Williams had 16 points on seven of 14 shooting. Cedric Martin, who made three of five three-point attempts, added 11 points. No other Pulley player scored more than six points.

BABC, which made 36 of 56 (64.3%) from the field, had three players with 20 or more points. Gerald Coleman was 10 of 12 from the field as he scored a game-high 23 points. Jama1 Coombs-McDaniel, a Connecticut commit, was 10 of 15 from the field as he scored 22 points. Sophomore point guard Phil Pressey, son of former NBA guard Paul, had 20 points and seven assists as he shot eight of 15. Connecticut verbal Alex Oriakhi added 12 points as he made all five shots from the field.

Howard Pulley will play in the Kingwood Classic next weekend.
