Josh Zitzmann Gets Minnesota Interest

Josh Zitzmann, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide receiver/defensive back from Farmington, recently attended the Minnesota spring game. Zitzmann is one of the state's three-sport athletes as he also shines in basketball and track and field. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Zitzmann to learn the latest on his recruitment. He will play for the MSB Roadrunners in the Sabes tourney this weekend.

Josh Zitzmann caught 19 passes for 453 yards and six touchdowns as a junior. He was named honorable mention 2007 Minnesota Associated Press All-State team.

Zitzmann also had one rushing touchdown, and he had 38 tackles as a defensive back as the Tigers finished 5-4, losing to Owatonna in the first round of the playoffs 28-14.

Zitzmann led the Tigers in scoring in basketball with 17.3 points per game as they finished 13-14. He scored in double figures in all but one game as he finished with nine points.

Zitzmann said that he is getting recruiting looks from college football teams as a wide receiver. He is hearing from Minnesota, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. Zitzmann attended the Northern Illinois Junior Day.

Zitzmann plans to attend camps at Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, South Dakota State and North Dakota.

Zitzmann is hearing from Minnesota Mankato, Minnesota Moorhead, Wisconsin River Falls and Nebraska-Omaha for basketball

Zitzmann will play for the Minnesota School of Basketball Roadrunners in the Sabes Invitational Tournament this weekend. He played in the Jayhawk Invitational last weekend and in the Dakota Schoolers tourney the previous weekend.
