Kevin Noreen Gets Recruiting Interest

Kevin Noreen, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward from Minnesota Transitions Charter, is one of the top players in the state in the Class of 2010. Noreen helped lead the Magic Elite 16-and-under AAU team to the State AAU tournament title this past weekend. Noreen has two offers and will play in the Minnesota Elite camp later this month. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Noreen to learn the latest.

Kevin Noreen averaged 28.2 points and 13.6 rebounds per game this season as he led the Wolves to a 28-5 mark and a runner-up spot in the Class A state tournament. He shot 58% from the field, 49% from three-point range and 83% from the free throw line.

Noreen has received scholarship offers from Gonzaga and William & Mary and has gotten interest from several other programs after a strong spring.

"I'm hearing from Iowa State, Colorado State, Northwestern and George Mason," he said.

Noreen will have a busy June, including a camp at Minnesota.

"I have the Gonzaga camp at the end of the month, the Minnesota Elite camp June 22-23, the North Dakota State team camp next weekend and Northern Iowa team camp."

Things will not let up for Noreen in July as AAU play picks back up.

"I'll play in the adidas Phenoms Camp July 10-13 and then play in the NY2LA Sports Next Level Invitational (at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wis., July 6-9), the AAU 16U Super Showcase (at Disney's Wide World of Sports Milk House Complex in Kissimmee, Fla., July 22-24) and the AAU 16U Division I National Championship (at the Josten Center in Kissimmee July 25-30)," he said.

Noreen's younger brother, Kyle, averaged 13.5 points per game as a 6-foot-3 freshman.
