Indiana T Brooks Michel Commits to Minnesota

Brooks Michel, a 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle from Carmel (IN) High who attended the Gophers' spring game, has committed to Minnesota, according to sources close to his recruitment. Michel had an offer from Minnesota and North Carolina State.

Brooks Michel helped lead Carmel to the Indiana state championship and a 13-2 mark. Their two losses were to future Gophers QB Marqueis Gray of Indianapolis Ben Davis, 28-27, and a 32-31 defeat to Greenwood (IN) Center Grove.

Michel has also received interest from Albama, Virginia, North Carolina and Big 10 schools such as Iowa, according to his father Tim.

Tim Michel attended Indiana and played baseball one year there and his other son attended Indiana. However, the Hoosiers were really are not recruiting Brooks.
