Chanse Creekmur Gets Big Ten Offer

Chanse Creekmur, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Marshalltown (IA) High, shined at the recent Twin Cities Summer Classic, helping lead Net Gain Sports to the 17-and-under title. Creekmur is an excellent outside shooter, who has picked up several offers, including a Big Ten offer after the completion of the tournament. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Creekmur to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Chanse Creekmur helped lead the Net Gain Sports to a 48-47 win over 43 Hoops in the Twin Cities Summer Classic. He finished with six points, making two three-points.

Creekmur scored 11 points in their quarterfinal win over MSB Roadrunners 70-58.

Creekmur helped lead Marshalltown to a 19-5 mark this season as a sophomore. He made the game-winning jumper from the right wing with two seconds left to give the Bobcats a 51-50 Class 4A substate final victory over Ames and their sophomore standout Harrison Barnes.

Marshalltown fell to Linn-Mar 54-48 in overtime in a Class 4A quarterfinal, despite Creekmur finishing with 16 points to lead the Bobcats.

Creekmur was named all-Class 4A Substate 2 by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association after he averaged 12.7 points per game, second-best on the team. He averaged seven boards and three assists per contest and led the team in blocks and was second in steals. Creekmur owns the single-season scoring records for both freshmen and sophomores (305 points) in school history. He was named to the all-CIML Iowa Conference team after being honorable mention as a freshman. They return three starters.

Creekmur is playing for the Net Gain Sports AAU team after having been with the Martin Brothers team this spring.

Martin Brothers won the Las Vegas Spring Classic 16-Under Championship game in April 92-83 over the Bay Area Hoosiers as Creekmur scored 23 points including three three-pointers.

Creekmur has offers from Northern Iowa, Washington State, Indiana State, Creighton, Butler, Montana State, North Dakota State, Illinois State and picked up an offer from Iowa Wednesday after the tournament. Creekmur attended the Iowa State Elite Camp and is getting interest from the Cyclones.

Creekmur will play with Net Gain in the adidas 64 in Las Vegas the 22th-26th and in the the Phoenix Duel in the Desert the 27-30th.
