Gopher Basketball Coaches to Hit Las Vegas

The Minnesota Gopher coaching staff is back on the road Tuesday recruiting some of the top high school talent. The coaches will be in Las Vegas and Orlando checking out some available prospects. GoldenSports.Net will be in Vegas watching the talented players and the Gopher coaches are hoping that they they will be big winners in Sin City.

The Nike Main Event has 164 teams in their 17-and-under division. Trevor Williams, a 6-foot-10, 254-pound center from Denver (CO) Lutheran, will play for the Tru Playaz. They will face Houston Team Genesis at 5:45 at Bonanza High Tuesday, Spiece Select 2009 at 12:20 Wednesday and CP3 All Stars Thursday at 8 a.m. Williams has a scholarship offers from Colorado State, Minnesota, Purdue and Washington State.

Thomas Robinson, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy, is playing for the Squash All Beefs. Robinson has offers from Kentucky, Maryland, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh and Oklahoma, among others. He played well in the recent Rebook All-American Camp. Robinson's team plays Bakersfield United at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, Illinois Magic at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday and Dallas Showtyme White at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

The Gopher coaching staff will also keep tabs on local teams Net Gain Sports, which won the recent Twin Cities Summer Classic, runner-up 43 Hoops and Minnesota Magic Robertson at the adidas Super 64 event.

Net Gain, which is led by Osseo big man Sam Dower, will face Wisconsin Swing Combo at 10:20 in the morning Tuesday, Full Package Athletics at 7:40 Tuesday night and Texas D1 Ambassadors at 5:00 Wednesday.

43 Hoops will play One Tough School of Basketball at 3:40 Tuesday, Utah Swoosh at 1:00 Wednesday and Wedman Pumas at 10:20 Thursday.

Minnesota Magic Robertson will meet Texas Select Horace 2:20 Tuesday, BTI Elite 10:20 Wednesday and Indiana Dawgz 10:20 Thursday.
