Johnnie Lacy is hearing from Indiana, Marquette, Minnesota, Tennessee and Texas. He is a guard who has excellent quickness, but is considered by some observers to be more of a scorer than a true playmaker. His lack of size hurts him at times as a defender.

Minnesota was considered to be the favorite for his services at one time. However, they recently offered Darius Smith of Chicago (IL) Marshall and are looking at Eric Bledsoe of Birmingham (AL) Parker. The Gophers have not offered Bledsoe, who is looking at hometown UAB. The Blazers have become a strong player with the recent de-commitment of guard Tamir Jackson. Bledsoe is ranked as the No. 10 point guard in the country by Scout.com

The Gophers are also looking at Cory Joseph, younger brother of incoming freshman Devoe Joseph, who recently transferred to Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep. Joseph did not play in Las Vegas to attend summer school and could possibly be a 2009 prospect, depending on the academic work he is able to do this year. Joseph will start school August 18, according to Findlay representatives.
