Justin Cobbs, a 6-foot-3 guard from Torrance (CA) Bishop Montgomery, talked to GoldenSports.Net during his official visit to Minnesota. Cobbs recently received a scholarship offer from Minnesota and has already visited San Diego State. He had a trip planned to a Big Ten rival next weekend, but will he take it?

Justin Cobbs visited San Diego State recently and had planned a trip to Iowa next weekend. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Cobbs at the Minnesota-Florida Atlantic game to find out the latest.

I know that you just got here, but what are your thoughts of the Twin Cities?

"I love it. It is a beautiful city. It's different from California, but I like the weather. It is not that bad. Just being around the players and the coaching staff feels good. It is already feeling more like a family than a team thing. I liked it a lot."

Did you get a chance to see the team play?

"We watched them practice. We can't really play with them yet. We just watched them practice and we shot a little bit. I liked the team chemistry. Everybody gets along. That is my main thing. I like Tubby's (Smith) philosophy of defense and everything. I like it a lot."

Are you planning on going to Iowa next week still?

"I don't know."

Is this a place that you could see yourself fiitng in?

"I think so (he chuckles)"

When do you think you would make a decision?

"If I do, I'll let you know this weekend, right after this weekend."

What type of player do you see yourself as - a point guard or combo guard?

"I think of myself right now as a point guard. A leader who is going to tell you, 'This is what you need to run a play,' run the team. If a coach needs me to score, I can score also. My main thing is to lead the team in any way I can."
