Cody Larson Commits to Iowa

Cody Larson, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound junior forward from Sioux Falls (SD) Roosevelt who is considered one of the top players in the Midwest in the Class of 2010, has committed to Iowa, according to Paul Seville of the Dakota Schoolers AAU program. Larson, who made an unofficial visit to Iowa earlier this month, had received recruiting interest from Minnesota.

Cody Larson averaged 10.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season as the Roughriders finished 18-7 and in sixth place in the South Dakota Class AA State Tournament. He finished with 11 points and eight rebounds in their 56-48 loss to Yankton as Minnesota signee Colton Iverson scored 27 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the win.

Paul Seville told GoldenSports.Net that Larson had scholarship offers from Gonzaga, Nebraska, Colorado, Colorado State, New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Drake, Northern Iowa, Missouri State and South Dakota State.

Larson attended the Minnesota-Wisconsin basketball game in February. The Badgers have former Roosevelt product Joel Krabbenhoft on their roster and Larson was hearing from both schools.

"Tubby Smith saw him play three of his four games in Kansas City in the end of July," Seville said.
