Marcus Alipate to Get Big Ten Visits

Marcus Alipate, a 5-foot-11 sophomore point guard from Bloomington (MN) Jefferson, will get a visit from Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan Monday and from Tubby Smith of Minnesota later this week. Alipate is the younger brother of Gopher commit Moses and the son of former Minnesota Viking Tuneau. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Marcus Friday after the Jaguars' 31-27 win over crosstown rival Kennedy.

Marcus Alipate is a two-sport standout for Jefferson, playing wide receiver on the gridiron and playing point guard for the basketball team.

Alipate will get an in-school visit with Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan Monday and from Tubby Smith of Minnesota later this week. Alipate said that he is receiving mail from several top programs.

"Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Oregon State, Iowa State, Iowa and Northern Iowa," he said.

Alipate visited the Wisconsin and Northern Iowa campuses as a member of the Howard Pulley AAU program and has been at every home Gophers football game with his brother.
