Eric Decker Named to Sporting News AA Team

Minnesota junior wide receiver Eric Decker was one of six Big Ten players named on Sporting News Today's inaugural Midseason All-American Team released Friday. Decker was recently named to the midseason team. Decker has caught 59 passes for 782 yards (13.3 yards per reception) with five touchdowns. He is tied for fifth in the country in receptions and sixth in receiving yards.

The conference dominated at running back, with Michigan State's Javon Ringer and Iowa's Shonn Greene both named to SN Today's team.

Also picked: Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis and cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, Minnesota wide receiver Eric Decker and Penn State kick returner Derrick Williams.

Ohio State was one of just four schools with two players on the team. Alabama, Texas and USC are the others.

The SEC had seven players honored. The Big Ten's six were one more than the Big 12.
