Kentucky Guard Aaron Cosby Visiting Minnesota

Aaron Cosby, a 6-foot-3 junior shooting guard from Jeffersontown, is visiting Minnesota and will attend the Gophers game versus Northern State. Cosby had committed to Massachusetts, but decided to re-open his recruitment when UMass head coach Travis Ford left to become the head coach at Oklahoma State. He has been to Indiana several times and is believed to be favoring the Hoosiers and Minnesota.

Aaron Cosby sat out most of the 2007-08 season after transferring to Jeffersontown from Louisville Manual.

Cosby also has scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Miami (Ohio) and Western Kentucky and has received interest from Purdue, Dayton, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Louisville.

Cosby played this spring and summer for the Kentucky Hoopstars AAU program. He shined at the King James event in Akron, Ohio in late April as he helped the HoopStars to a 3-2 mark. His best game came when he scored 41 points against the Louis Williams Elite team and followed that up with games of 25 and 26 points.

Cosby helped lead the Kentucky HoopStars to the 15-and-under title in 2007 at the Kentucky HoopFest with a 71-68 overtime victory over the Spiece Indy Heat. Cosby led the team in the title game with 25 points.

Cosby averaged 11.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game as a freshman at Manual, but left the school just after his sophomore season started and sat out the rest of the year while attending Jeffersontown.

He played defensive back and wide receiver for the Manual football team as a freshman and had received received recruiting interest on the gridiron before deciding to focus on basketball.
