Wayzata LB A.J. Tarpley Gets Recruiting Look

A.J. Tarpley, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior linebacker/tight end from Plymouth (MN) Wayzata, has helped lead the Trojans to the Prep Bowl finals, where they will face Blaine next Friday. Wayzata is known for producing standout linebackers such as James Laurinitis and Tommy Becker. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Tarpley to learn the latest on his recruitment.

A.J. Tarpley has helped lead the deep Trojans to a 12-0 mark. His older brother Matt serves as the Wayzata quarterback and wide receiver.

What schools are you hearing from so far?

"Right now, I've gotten letters from UCLA, Alabama, Iowa and Minnesota, and they have all sent me multiple letters."

Did you get a chance to attend many football camps last summer?

"I did not get a chance to go to many, but I have been to the Minnesota camp and the University of Miami camp."

What camps are you hoping to attend this upcoming summer?

"I really want to go to the various camps that I have received letters from. I'd like to go to Miami again."

Have you been to many college football games this year?

"I have been to a couple of Minnesota Gopher games as a recruit and done that whole thing. It was nice to do that, but that was the only team that I have been to like that so far."
