Lawrence Westbrook Named Player of the Week

Lawrence Westbrook, a 6-foot junior guard was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in leading Minnesota to the NABC Classic title. Westbrook scored 48 points in the three wins.

Lawrence Westbrook made five of twelve shots from the field, including two of four from three-point range as he finished with 13 points in a 76-51 win over Concordia-St. Paul in the season opener.

Westbrook scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Gophers to a 68-61 win over Bowling Green. He was six of 14 from the field, including one of four from three-point range. Westbrook made seven of eight from the line. He was the lone double-figure scorer for the Gophers.

Westbrook was the only double-figure scorer for the second straight game, as he had 15 points as he made 4 of 9 shots from the field, including 2 of 5 from three-point range. Westbrook made all five attempts from the line. He was named the NABC Classic MVP.
