Westbrook Named Player of the Week

Lawrence Westbrook, a 6-foot junior guard, was named GoldenSports.net/Outback Steakhouse's Gopher Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in leading Minnesota to two wins this past week as Minnesota improved to 8-0. Westbrook scored 30 points in the two victories.

Lawrence Westbrook made 3 of 10 shots from the field, including 1 of 5 from three-point range as he finished with 13 points in a 66-56 win over Virgina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. He made 6 of 8 from the charity stripe.

Westbrook scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Gophers to a 71-54 win over Cornell. He was 5 of 9 from the field, including 3 of 4 from three-point range. Westbrook made 4 of 6 from the line.

Westbrook is averaging 14.4 points per game and has scored in double figure in every game but one.
