JC Tackle Jeff Wills Commits to Minnesota

Jeff Wills, a 6-foot-7, 350-pound tackle from Lackawanna (PA) CC who visited Minnesota this weekend, has committed to the Gophers, according to sources close to the program. GoldenSports.Net first broke the news that Wills would visit Minnesota this weekend. Wills played in Minnesota this year as they faced Rochester MCTC in the first ever North Star Bowl, losing 19-13.

Jeff Wills was named first-team All-Northeast Conference as he helped lead the Falcons to a 7-4 mark. Wills played at the same junior college as Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, who had a chance to meet with Wills when the team came up to Minnesota.

Lackawanna, whose head coach Mark Duda played six years in the NFL for the St. Louis and Arizona Cardinals, ranked among the top 10 in rushing offense this season. However, the Falcons could only muster 150 total yards against Rochester as the Yellowjackets ranked No. 1 in the nation in run defense.

Jeff Vinson, a 6-foot-6, 348-pound tackle, gave the Falcons a huge bookend at tackle this season.

Willis attended Laurelton (NY) Campus Magnet, where he also played basketball and threw the shot put and discus.
