Lamonte Edwards Gets Recruiting Looks

Lamonte Edwards, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound junior linebacker/running back from Woodbury, is one of the state's top juniors. Edwards helped lead the Royals to a 9-2 mark this past season, losing to Cretin Derham Hall twice. Edwards is getting early looks from several schools, including Minnesota. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Woodbury head coach Beau LaBore to learn the latest on his standout player.

Lamonte Edwards is receiving interest from Minnesota and figures to be one of the state's most highly recruited players in the Class of 2010.

Woodbury head coach Beau LaBore is one of Edwards' biggest booster.

"He is a pretty unbelievable talent," LaBore said. "He is very strong. He is explosive and fast. He is a hard worker. I think that he has a bright future."

Edwards helped lead the Royals to a 9-2 record, losing to Cretin Derham Hall 33-14 in the Class AAAAA Section 4 finals. They lost to the Raiders 22-16 in the regular season.
