Minnesota Gets Good Turnout for Junior Day

Twelve of the state's top juniors were in attendance at the Minnesota Gophers Junior Day, despite being an ACT test day. Minnesota did a good job of locking up the top talent from the Class of 2009 and they have already made strong inroads on the top prospects for the Class of 2010.

Offensive tackle Jimmy Gjere of Irondale, defensive lineman Beau Allen from Minnetonka, linebacker/running back Lamonte Edwards of Woodbury, defensive lineman Tobi Okeyumi and linebacker Grant Olson of Wayzata, tight end Taylor Grant from Eden Prairie, running back John Crockett, linebacker Gabe Mezzenga and defensive lineman Muhammad Kromah of Totino Grace, and Evan Williams from De La Salle all attended Minnesota's junior day.

Incoming recruits Matt Garin and Ed Olson brought along some talented high schools teammates. Garin brought sophomore running back Andre Hunt and Olson brought in verbal commit and younger brother Tommy Olson.

Minnesota's top in-state player, Seantrel Henderson from Cretin-Durham Hall, and good friend J.D. Pride of Totino-Grace made brief appearances before taking their college enterance test.
