Tom Parish Attracts Minnesota Interest

Tom Parish, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback from Hartland (WI) Arrowhead, is one of the top signal-callers in the Badger State. Parish recently received a scholarship offer from Minnesota and attended Gopher practice Friday. Parish helped lead the Warhawks to a 13-1 mark, losing to Mequon Homestead 13-11 in the Wisconsin Division One State Championship title.

Tom Parish was named All-Honorable Mention Classic Eight Conference as he helped Arrowhead reach their third straight title game. Ironically, they faced Homestead in all three of the title games.

Arrowhead traditionally has one of the state's top rushing attacks. However, that has not stopped Arrowhead coach Tom Taraska from praising his signal-caller's abilities. Taraska previously coached Wisconsin quarterback Tyler Donovan and recently compared the two to the Wisconsin State Journal.

"He's every bit as talented as Donovan," Taraska said. "A little taller, a little bigger, but a great athlete. He probably had as good a junior year as any kid we've ever had."

Parish is also receiving recruiting interest from Wisconsin, Iowa and Eastern Illinois. Parish completed 47 of 82 passing attempts for 723 yards and eight touchdowns in 2008. He rushed 77 times for 422 yards and six scores.

Parish comes from a football family as both his father and grandfather are former Division I quarterbacks.
