Ethan Jacobs Gets Minnesota Interest

Ethan Jacobs, a 7-foot center from Tipton (IN) High, has received interest from many Big Ten schools, including Minnesota. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Jacobs to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Ethan Jacobs led Tipton to a 23-3 mark this season, losing to Ft. Wayne Bishop Luers (the eventual champion 60-53 in the regionals). They were the top seed, while Luers, which has won back-to-back titles, was the second seed. The Blue Devils had lost just two regular-season games, falling to Kokomo 52-51 and to Franklin Central 43-41 in overtime.

Jacobs told GoldenSports.Net that he is hearing from many schools in the Big Ten, such as Penn State, Northwestern and Minnesota. He is also getting looks from Nebraska, Ohio University, Indiana State, IPFW and IUPUI.

Jacobs plays for the talented Spiece Indy Heat AAU program that features Ft. Wayne Bishop Luers standout junior DeShaun Thomas and sophomore teammates Kenny Mullins and Evan Blackman and top sophomore Marquis Teague of Indianapolis Pike.

Jacobs will take more of a scoring load with the graduation of Derrick Elston, who signed with Indiana. Elston averaged 22.6 points and 12 rebounds per game.
