Minnesota Pump N Run Wins Spring Showcase

Minnesota Pump N Run defeated Wisconsin Swing 60-56 in overtime to win the Pump N Run Spring Showcase 17-and-Under title.

The Wisconsin Swing led 34-27 at halftime, but Carlos Emmory, an outstanding leaper who is known more for his dunking ability, hit three three-pointers to start on the second half and Kevin Noreen scored ten second half points to help the Pump N Run to regain the lead.

Marquis Mason, a 6-foot-4 Wisconsin football commit from Madison East, made one of two free throws to cut the margin to 54-53. Aaron Anderson, a 5-foot-10 guard from Osseo, made two free throws with 49 seconds left to put Minnesota Pump N Run up 56-53. Chip Rank, a 6-foot-6 forward from Cedarburg, made a three-pointer with 24 seconds left to force overtime.

Johnathon Crockett made one of two free throws and Anderson sealed the game by making three of four from the charity stripe.

Emmory, who is headed to Howard (TX) CC and Noreen scored 18 points each for Minnesota Pump N Run. Steve Tecker added ten points, all in the first half.

Josh Gasser, a 6-foot-4 guard from Port Washington, had 25 points as he made all nine free throws. Rank and Mason added eleven points each.
