Vander Blue Has Press Conference Scheduled

Vander Blue, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Madison (WI) Memorial, will have a press conference Tuesday night to discuss his recruiting status, according to our good friend Mark Miler. Rumors swirled about Blue decommitting from Wisconsin last week.

Vander Blue scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds as the Spartans defeated Racine Horlick, 56-41 in the Division I state championship game.

Blue was named the first team All-State by the Associated Press and the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. The Spartans finished 26-1 and won their sixth straight Big Eight Conference title and sixth straight berth to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball tournament.

Marquette, which landed Madison Memorial teammate Jeronne Maymon, is thought to be the leader to secure Blue, if he should re-open his recruitment. Blue played last weekend with the Madison Spartans AAU program. He has also played for the Illinois Warriors this spring.

Minnesota is also expected to be one of many schools to get involved with Blue, if he decides to check out other schools.
