Ross Travis Gets Recruiting Attention

Ross Travis, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward from Chaska, is starting to attract recruiting interest after a strong spring start with 43 Hoops. Travis did not see much varsity action with Chaska this past season, but he and fellow 43 Hoops teammate Jake White will make one of the top frontcourt duos in the state. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Travis to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Ross Travis helped lead the Hawks to an 18-10 mark, losing to Bloomington Jefferson in the Section 2 semifinals 86-73.

Travis is playing for the Hoops 43 AAU team, which won the Minnesota Select Classic over the Redhawks earlier this month and finished 5-0 in the Adidas May Classic Tournament. They had to fly back before the championship game, preventing them from winning back-to-back titles.

What schools are you starting to hear from?

"Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa State."

Are you planning going to any camps this summer?

"Last year, I went to the Headliner camp. I don't know about this year yet."

How do you feel that you have play so far in AAU ball?

"Good. I think that I have played really good. I just back from a recent back injury, so I am starting to get back in the flow of the game."

How about this upcoming season? You lost a few players but you have you and Jake coming back.

"Kevin Johnson transferred, but we got Anthony Weber coming back. He's a junior. Me and Jake. We are just going to have to find a point guard. We'll be pretty good."
