Keith Sconiers, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver from H.L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Ill., has a handful of scholarship offers from BCS schools. Other than his first offer from Minnesota, which he received earlier this year, he has offers from Indiana, Arizona, and Eastern Michigan.
"I talked to coach Cosgrove," Sconiers said about the offer, "but I didn't really talk to him before the offer. I started talking to him after the offer."
Sconiers said he has also had contact with wide receivers coach Richard Hightower.
Sconiers is going to take one of his official visits to Minnesota next season, when he will look at how well he might fit the program.
"I want a school where I will be able to get a good education," said the wide receiver who dreams of playing in the NFL.
Gophers fans may have to wait a while for Sconiers final decision. He does not have a favorite yet and is going to wait to commit.
When asked when he would be making a decision Sconiers said, "maybe after next year's football season."
Last season Sconiers had more than 656 yards receiving playing for an offense that he described as a pro-set/spread mix.
