Rodney Williams Gets By NCAA Clearinghouse

Rodney Williams Jr., a 6-foot-6, 185-pound forward, received word that he has been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse and will be eligible as a freshman. Williams did not take class this summer as he got his eligibility issues resolved. Williams played for the Minnesota Grassroots AAU team Monday in the Best Buy Summer Classic. However, he didn't play in Tuesday's games.

Rodney Williams Jr. averaged 15.5 points per game as he led the Hawks to a 27-2 mark. He was named first-team All-Metro by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. However, he averaged just 10.3 points in his final seven games, including only eight points in the Hawks' 58-51 loss to Osseo, a team they defeated in the 2008 section finals when the Orioles were undefeated.

He is an athletic player who might have been the top dunker in the Class of 2009 and he has been wowing fans at the Pulley Pro City League.
