Minnetonka's Cole Stefan Makes SEC Visit

Cole Stefan, a 6-foot-3 senior guard from Minnetonka, is one of the top outside shooters in the Class of 2010. He recently visited Auburn on an unofficial visit after playing for helped lead Net Gain Sports in the adidas Supper 64 in Las Vegas and at the in Phoenix. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Stefan to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Cole Stefan averaged 18.8 points per game as the Skippers finished 12-14 last year after winning the Class AAAA title in 2008. They lost to Minneapolis North 64-55 in the Class 4A, Section 6 first round playoff game. Stefan scored in double figures in all but three games and had a season-best 32 points versus St. Paul Johnson.

Stefan told GoldenSports.Net that he received plenty of interest after a strong shooting July.

"I received offers from USC, Auburn and San Diego. Gonzaga has gotten back in the picture and may offer.

Stefan said that he hopes to make make a decision before the early signing period.

"I will try to sign in November, but things are pretty new in the last five or six days."

Stefan will play for the Skippers in the Minnetonka Fall League and is working hard to prepare for his senior season.

"I am going to work out, play with my teammates and work in the weight room."

Stefan has been hampered by a shoulder and knee injury, which caused him to miss the final day of the recent Pacesetter Sweet 16. However, he is hoping that he will be 100% for the start of the season.

"It's getting a lot better. It was sore after playing in nine or ten games in late July."
