Adam Weber Makes Manning Award Preseason List

Minnesota junior quarterback Adam Weber is one of 38 quarterbacks in the nation on the preseason watch list for the Manning Award, it was announced today. The winner will be announced after the bowls in January and will be honored at a February banquet in New Orleans.

Adam Weber earned second team All-Big Ten honors from the league's coaches and honorable mention accolades from the media last season as a redshirt sophomore. Weber started all 13 games, passing for more than 200 yards in eight of 13 games and tossing at least one touchdown in ten of 13 games.

Weber threw just eight interceptions on 410 pass attempts last season. He had a passer rating of 126.9, fifth in the Big Ten and 57th in the nation Weber completed 255 of his 410 passing attempts for 2,761 yards and a completion percentage of 62.2 percent, which led the Big Ten. He threw 15 touchdown passes.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that takes into consideration the candidates' bowl performances.
