Terrell Combs Leaves Gopher Football Program

University Of Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster has announced that sophomore defensive lineman Terrell Combs (Lexington, Ky.) has left the squad. Combs moved from defensive line to tight end late in the 2008 season, but shifted back to the defensive line in the spring of 2009.

"Terrell Combs has decided to transfer," Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster said. "We wish him the best of luck in the future."

Combs earned playing time as a reserve defensive lineman in three games against Montana State, Florida Atlantic and Ohio State.

Combs attended Bryan Station High School along with Gopher teammate D.L. Wilhite and helped lead the Defenders to a berth in the 2007 Kentucky Class 5A state playoffs. Combs had 45 receptions for 876 yards and 15 touchdowns at wide receiver and finished the season with 1,197 all-purpose yards as a senior. He also punted and averaged over 40 yards per kick. Combs earned honorable mention all-state honors from the Louisville Courier Journal as a wide receiver and was named first team All-Fayette County at wide receiver by the Lexington Herald-Leader
