Rosemount LB Max Busher Gets Recruiting Looks

Max Busher, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker from Rosemount (MN) High, is a preseason All-State candidate. He attended the Minnesota Gopher football camp this summer and has already attracted two scholarship offers. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Busher after their season-opening 31-0 win over Apple Valley.

Max Busher helped lead Rosemount to an 11-2 mark, sharing the Lake Conference title with Eden Prairie. The Irish lost to eventual state champion Wayzata 34-10 in the Class AAAAA semifinals.

Busher had a busy summer attending several top college camps.

"I was able to go to Minnesota. This was actually all in a one-week period. Minnesota, Northwestern, North Dakota State and Northern Iowa. North Dakota State and North Dakota have offered. Northern Iowa said that they would after camp, but I don't want to quote them on that because they haven't yet."

Busher hopes to make several college games this fall.

"This weekend, I am going to be up North, but the weekend after that I am planning on going to Northern Iowa. After that, I am going to head up to a game at Colorado State and I am sure in the mix, I'll definitely catch a Minnesota game and hopefully North Dakota, if I am ever up North."

Busher is an excellent student.

"(My GPA is) 3.93. One B in honors chemistry. He is actually a football coach and he thought it was really funny."

Busher has high expectations for his Irish team this season.

"I think it is to basically just lead the team and make sure that the team stays on track, because if the team stays on track that means personal success as well. First and foremost, is the team. As you can see, we just put up a win and hopefully we can do that and repeat what we did last year, if not better. That is what our goal is team-wise. Personal-wise, is to just keep getting better."

Busher is hearing from a variety of colleges, but says that he doesn't have a current top choice.

"A favorite school? No, I don't actually right now. I'm still kind of looking. There are a lot of schools that said they wanted to see some senior film. I am just waiting to do that and do what I can to help out the team. I am just going to focus on team first right now."

Busher sent out his highlight tapes to schools across the country.

"The highlight tapes that I did, I sent them out right away through the Midwest. I got kind of a late start on sending them out west. Now that I sent them out west and down south, I have been hearing lot more from some schools. A lot of them have been saying that they want to see some senior film and we'll go from there."

Busher has thought about a possible major in college.

"I want to do something in the business field. I don't know if it is going to be business management or international business or something like that, but it will be in the business field."

Busher said that schools are looking at him to remain as a linebacker, but they are split between playing inside and outside.

"Some schools are looking at me as inside, but there are a couple of other schools that they may put me at outside linebacker. I think that either way, I would be able to adjust.'

Busher is a three-sport standout for the Irish. However, he is debating whether he will play all three as a senior.
