Moses Morgan Gets Minnesota Attention

Moses Morgan, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Las Vegas (NV) Palo Verde, is familiar with the Big Ten. His father, Winston, played for the Hoosiers under Bobby Knight from 1982-86. Morgan has also received a scholarship offer from conference rival Michigan. Minnesota has also become involved in his recruiting and Gopher assistant Vince Taylor will fly out to Las Vegas Wednesday to watch Morgan.

Moses Morgan helped lead Palo Verde to the 4A state championship game, losing to Bishop Gorman 56-55. Morgan averaged 17 points and nearly eight rebounds per game as he shot 49% from the field.

Morgan, who shined this summer as a member of the Los Angeles-based I Can All Stars and attended the LeBron James Skills Academy, has received scholarship offers from Indiana, Memphis, Utah, Oklahoma, Michigan and UNLV. Hometown UNLV offered Morgan a scholarship as a freshman. He is expected to sign in the early signing period in November.

Minnesota assistant coach Vince Taylor will watch Morgan and Corey Joseph, a top ten guard from Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep. The Gophers have yet to offer Morgan a scholarship, but that could change.
