New London Spicer 72, Sebeka 70
New-London Spicer rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to edge Sebeka 72-70 in the opening game of the Minnesota Breakdown Tip-Off Classic as Erik Tengwall hit a three-pointer from the corner in the closing seconds.
Aaron "Moose" Johnson led all scorers with 27 points. Tengwall had 13 points and Aaron Jenny added ten in the win. All five Sebeka starters reached double figures as they were led by Cody Pulju with 17 points. Joey Cuperus and John Clark scored 15,points each, Ryan Sharp had eleven and Alex Brockpahler added ten.
Waconia 75, Sibley East 55
In a battle of two of Minnesota's top big men, Waconia got more scoring balance as they defeated the Wolverines 75-55. Shelby Moats had 21 points and eleven rebounds, while Sibley East center Marshall Bjorklund, who is headed to North Dakota State had a game-high 28 points.
Ben Korteum had 17 points for the Wildcats and Bronson Scheff and Danny Fischback added 13 and ten points, respectively.
Plainview/Elgin-Millville 81, Minneapolis North 74
Minneapolis North jumped out to a an early twelve point lead, but Plainview/Elgin-Millville junior Cole Olstad hit a three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to cut the margin to 43-40 at the break, which seemed to give the Bulldogs some needed momentum.
Plainview/Elgin-Millville grabbed their own twelve-point lead, but the Polars cut the margin to six before the Bulldogs sealed the game with some clutch free throw shooting.
Cole Olstad led all scorers with 23 points. Michael Pick added 19 points and Landon Flies and Chris Conrad scored eleven each. North was paced by Charles Smith with 19 points. Ricky Collins added 16 points and Shondale Strickland had 13.
