Westbrook Named to Portsmouth Invitational

Minnesota senior guard Lawrence Westbrook has been named to the Portsmouth Invitational, a pre-draft event for 64 of the top college seniors that will be held April 7-10. Westbrook is one of three Big Ten players and the most recent Gopher invited since Vincent Grier. GoldenSports.Net will be in attendance with all the latest news on Westbrook's performance in front of the NBA scouts.

Lawrence Westbrook will play Thursday at 7:00 for the Portsmouth Partnership team along with center Jeff Foote of Cornell (who played in the Howard Pulley Pro-Am summer league), forwards Anthony Johnson from Fairfield, Tyren Johnson of Louisiana-Lafayette and Tennessee's J. P. Prince and fellow guards Dwight Lewis of USC, Mikhail Torrence from Alabama and Tulsa's Ben Uzoh.

If his team wins their first game, they will advance to the Portsmouth Invitational semifinals at 9:00 Friday night. If they lose, they will play in the consolation bracket at 3:15 Friday.

Westbrook is one of the Big Ten players participating in the Portsmouth Invitational. He will be joined by DeShawn Sims of Michigan and Trevon Hughes from Wisconsin.
