Nate Condon, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward from Wausau, Wisconsin will be playing for the Gophers in the upcoming season. Condon had a great season last year with the Fargo Force of the USHL. He tallied 23 goals and 28 assissts for 51 points in 60 games. Goldensports.net recently had an opportunity to talk to Condon about his choice of Minnesota as well as the upcoming season.

Have you arrived on campus yet?

"I am on campus currently, just for summer lifting and captain's practice. I'll [be] going home for awhile in August just to spend some time with my family, then I will be back here for welcome week and to move into my dorm with Mark Alt."

Do you know when practice starts for the year?

"I don't know when practice officially begins, however I know that as soon as we start the school year we get started on some intense off ice workouts."

What have you been working on this summer to prepare you to play at the next level?

"I've been working on getting stronger and quicker this summer. College hockey is a lot bigger and faster than juniors was and I understand I need to improve a few things in order to play."

What do you think you can bring to the Gophers this season?

"I think that I can use my speed and playmaking ability to help the Gophers on the offensive side of things. Last year in Fargo I established myself as an offensive presence and I hope I can do that for the Gophers as well."

Being from central Wisconsin, what led you to the Gophers?

"I really love the way that the Gophers play, as well as the tradition of excellence. The speed, creativity, and craftiness that the Gophers play with has always been intriguing to me. Another thing is I love the campus. After living here for this summer I enjoy it even more and I'm having an incredible time here."

Can you give me a prediction on how you think the Gopher season will go?

"I can't give an exact prediction on the team, however I think we have the ability to have a great team. We have a lot of good upper classmen that have the experience that we need and hopefully a few under classmen can step into a role and help the team out."
