On Friday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers announced that on August 21, starting at 10 a.m. they will hold a Fan Fest and a scrimmage that is open the public. The free event will take place at TCF Bank Stadium.
The Fan Fest will include family-friendly activities before the game and an autograph session after.
The event is a great way for the average fan to see the Gophers play as well as enjoy TCF Bank Stadium without the usual crowd of 50,000 people that descend on the stadium on normal game days.
For die-hard football fans, the scrimmage, which is set to start at 10:45 a.m., will be a great time to see Gophers in action prior to their opening game against Middle Tennessee State on September 2nd.
It will be interesting to see some new recruits and redshirt freshmen in action for the first time.
Fans can get a rough idea of the depth chart as well as a feel for the type of team the Gophers can be in 2010.
