Who Does Cameron Brown Favor?

Frisco (TX) Liberty receiver Cameron Brown has two scholarship offers and may be on the brink of more. Read what he has to say about his top schools.

Frisco (TX) Liberty wide receiver Cameron Brown was hard at work this last summer competing at various events hoping to improve his skills and garner interest from schools.

"Summer has been going really well," the 6-foot-2 wideout said. "I've been to many camps: ULM, UTEP, SMU, Kansas State, Houston, and Tulsa. I was in some 7-on-7 tournaments too. I did real well in both the camps and 7-on-7's."

Brown currently holds two scholarship offers from Minnesota and Western Kentucky but is hoping his performances at the Kansas State and Tulsa camps will lead to offers from those two schools in particular.

Although Kansas State and Tulsa have yet to offer Brown they are included his top three schools of interest along with Minnesota.

Brown went into detail about why each school on his list appeals to him.

Minnesota – "I like the coaches and my relationship with the coaching staff."

Tulsa – "The coaches' mentality and their beliefs. I also like the size and location of the school."

Kansas State – "I like the campus, the coaches and their beliefs."

Of his two offers, he claims Minnesota to be his main consideration. The interest is mutual and the Golden Gopher staff has Brown targeted as a prospect.

"I talk to the Minnesota coaches two or three times every two weeks," Brown said. "I have been in contact with the receivers coach Steve Watson and the defensive line coach Tim Cross, who recruited me.

While no visit is scheduled to Minnesota yet Brown knows when he would like to see the Golden Gophers. "I plan on the [visit] being the weekend of September 11th."

The visits this fall will be crucial in determining where Brown ends up and he already has an idea of the criteria he will be looking at when he visits each school. "I'm looking at the size, location, education program and opportunities of each school. [Also] the coaching system and style of each team."

If he can find the right fit on his visits this fall Brown already knows when he would like to commit. "By the end of football season or the beginning of basketball season at the latest," he said.
