Dasher Suspended Indefinitely

Middle Tennessee quarterback ruled ineligible after failing to repay a $1,500 gambling loan and will miss the home opener against Minnesota next Thursday.

Dwight Dasher was suspended by Middle Tennessee State University for an apparent violation of NCAA rules. The Blue Raider quarterback accepted a $1,500 loan from an 80-year man and will be suspended for at least the opener against Minnesota.

The Gophers will have to alter the plan of attack. Instead of preparing for a mobile quarterback, on whom there is plenty of film, the Gophers will have to prepare for probable starter Logan Kilgore. Kilgore, a transfer from a California junior college, makes preparing for the MTSU offense a different matter. Minnesota will have to prepare for a quarterback with very little footage, particularly game footage. Kilgore did get extended playing time in the Blue Raider Spring game, but the MTSU game plan behind Kilgore will likely be different than Dasher. The Gopher defense will be forced to face an unknown quantity on the other side of the line, the question is will the Gopher defense be able to pressure the untested quarterback early. If the Gophers can force the young quarterback to rush his throws and even get to Kilgore early, the advantage will swing to the Gophers.
