"Coach Hud (Mark Hudspeth) called me last night and asked me if I was ready to Bulldog," said Price. "He told me they were going to give me a scholarship and that they wanted me to come up there and play with them."
The news took a moment to sink in for Joe.
"I just kind of sat there and didn't say anything at first," said Price. "I just couldn't believe what he was saying.
"I have been waiting on this for a long time.
"I put him on speaker phone so my mama and my brother could hear what he was saying and then I told him I was committing."
The joy of the moment has still not passed for the talented speedster. He reports that joy is only matched by the relief of having his college future secure.
"I feel like I don't have any pressure on me to try to prove something all the time now," said Price. "I can just relax and enjoy playing football.
"Now I just need to go out and get ready to play football in the SEC and prove myself there."
Cornerback appears to be Joe's college position, but for now he is going to work for the Bulldogs as a recruiter.
"I am going to try to get my teammate (Tobias Singleton) to come," said Price. "I called him and told him I am going to State and he was glad.
"He told me that they were good and getting better.
"He told me where he is going to go. He already knows, he just wants to wait until the Army game to say where he's going."
Price makes the 18th public commitment for Coach Dan Mullen and his staff towards the 2011 signing class.
