MSU Baseball Expected To Sign 9

Mississippi State baseball is expected to sign nine players during the early signing period which begins Wednesday, November 10th.

Expected Signees:

Matthew Britton - 6-0, 165, R/R, MIF, Cullman (AL) High School. Matthew is considered one of the top middle infielders in the state of Alabama.

Philip Casey - 6-1, 170, R/R, MIF, Clements High School (Sugar Land, TX). Very good middle infielder from the Texas high school ranks.

Will Cox - 6-4, 215, R/R, RHP, Amory (MS) High School. A tall righty who has a smooth delivery and who already throws in the 88-90 mph range. Chose MSU over interest from Ole Miss and Southern Miss.

Trevor Fitts - 6-2, 190, R/R, RHP, Pelham (AL) High School. One of the top pitchers in the state of Alabama. Committed to Mississippi State early in junior season over an offer from Alabama and strong interest from Auburn.

Tyler Fullerton - 5-10, 155, R/R, OF, Siegel High School (Murfreesboro, TN). Exceptional speed. Turned down offers from Vanderbilt and Tennessee to sign with Mississippi State.

Jonathan Holder - 6-3, 215, R/R, RHP/1B, Gulfport (MS) High School. A young senior who projects well due to already having a power arm and power bat. Chose MSU over offers from Southern Miss, Southeast Louisiana, South Alabama and interest from Tennessee, Ole Miss and Samford

Jacob Lindgren - 6-0, 180, L/L, LHP/OF, St. Stanislaus (MS) School. Although only 6-0, has a power arm from the left side. Also a very good hitter and defensive outfielder. Rated the 5th best player in Mississippi by Perfect Game. Chose MSU over an offer from Tulane and strong interest from numerous other colleges.

Mitch Slauter - 6-2, 190, R/R, Catcher, Barton (KS) Community College. Mitch is an outstanding hitter who batted .343 with 8 home runs and 47 RBI his freshman season at Barton CC. Led his team in home runs and RBI last season.

Brandon Woodruff - 6-4, 215, R/R, OF/RHP, Wheeler (MS) High School. Tall righty who has a power arm and a power bat. Rated the 3rd best player in the state of Mississippi by Perfect Game USA. Chose MSU over offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss.
