K.D. Humphries visits Starkville
"I have not received any offers," said K.D. Humphries. "Mississippi State, Clemson, Southern Miss, LSU and Auburn are showing a lot of interest.
"Southern Miss told me they are going to see about offering me this weekend. I am going down there for Junior Day on Saturday. Auburn and Mississippi State are both close to offering me as well."
Humphries talked more about his unofficial trip to Starkville as the Bulldogs hosted prospects for Junior Day.
"It was awesome," Humphries said. "It was a great trip. I loved it. I saw a lot of stuff I had not seen. They took us to the basketball game. It was a lot of fun.
"I talked to coach Koenning and coach Hughes. I also got to talk a little bit to coach Mullen. They told me they were happy to see me. They hope I come back. They said they like my highlight tape. They said I could help them out at QB. They told me they plan to sign one quarterback this year."
Humphries did not hesitate to share his feelings for the Bulldogs.
"I love Mississippi State," he stated. "I love the atmosphere. Like coach Mullen said, it's all about the family thing. All the football players are known, and they are like one big family around the city of Starkville."
Humphries is a three-sport athlete. He has just completed basketball season and began playing baseball. His first game was Monday, and Lanier fell to Montgomery Catholic 8-7. Humphries plays left field, shortstop, third base and even pitched in the first game of the season.
