Obviously with an offer on the table, Thomas wanted to know more about Mississippi State. And he took an unofficial visit to Mississippi State last week.
"I visited Mississippi State Wednesday (of last week)," said the 6-5, 180-pounder. "They have a great campus. I also went to some of their games (last season)."
Although Thomas is keeping his options open, he's appreciative of the interest that he has received. When asked what schools he's interested in, he quickly named four that are on his current list.
"I'm interested in Mississippi State, Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss," said Thomas.
He explained in a little more detail the interest level the schools have in him and to an extent his interest level in them.
"Mississippi State is showing great interest in me. They have checked on my grades and come to my school. Tennessee came to my school one day. Ole Miss and Alabama, I just liked the colleges."
As for what he is looking for when he moves on to the collegiate level he really hasn't spent much time thinking about it but there is one thing he would like.
"I would like to play on an up tempo team," said Thomas.
Whichever school winds up signing him, they will be getting a guy that can score and wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.
"I think I am a better scorer driving with the ball but I'm also a great shooter from behind the line," said Thomas, who averaged 20 points per game this past season. "(And) I want the ball when we are down."
